How to detect pregnancy
common symptoms
There are many women who have no
clue as they do not seem to experience any of the symptoms associated with
pregnancy. It is also a fact that some signs of a pregnancy can be mistaken for
those of other illnesses. So what are the common symptoms?
- The most common symptom and one that is
easily recognizable, is missing a period. However, its
important to remember that conditions like stress, recent illness, sudden
weight loss / gain and getting off the Pill can also cause you to miss a
period.
- Another early symptom is a change in
the size and the feel of your breasts. You might find your
breasts becoming tender and slightly swollen or enlarged, with a tingling
sensation that also makes them very sensitive to touch. However, this
condition lasts for just a few weeks in the beginning.
- The third most common symptom is nausea
and vomiting. Commonly known as ‘morning sickness’, this is
one of the most dreaded signs of pregnancy. It is also one of the earliest
symptoms, sometimes appearing even in the second week of pregnancy. For
others, this happens from the 5th to 6th week onwards.
- Another visible sign is the darkening
of the areola, something that lasts throughout pregnancy.
- You may notice that you sometimes have to
get up at night to urinate, something you have never done before. Frequent
urination is also one of the first symptoms of pregnancy, and it may occur
as early as two weeks after conception.
- Both an unusual craving for
certain foods as well as queasiness at just the smell of others is a
common symptom. You may also experience strange tastes in the mouth.
- Constipation occurs during
pregnancy and is one of the signs women find most annoying.
Two weeks into your pregnancy,
what was just a group of cells begins to attach itself and develops in the
lining of the uterus. Pregnancy hormones begin to get released and then it is
time for you to get your pregnancy confirmed.
